Pastel Pet and Animal Portraits by Amanda Goforth
Award-winning artist Amanda Goforth is a proud alum of Ringling School of Art and Design, where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the area of Illustration in 1997.
"I have always been overly fond of animals of all kinds,
and they have
always been
favorite subjects in my drawings
and paintings.
I have
worked in oils, acrylics and
alkyds,
but my medium of choice has become
pastel on velour paper,
and my favorite
subject of
late has become our
beloved pets.
They are loyal companions and family
members, always
beautiful in our eyes. My challenge is to
capture the essence and
personality
of
each animal in fine portraiture. The playful joy
in a puppy's
eyes, the
sweet trust of a young
cat, the quiet dignity of
an aging horse.
They all
deserve
nothing less than to be
remembered forever in our hearts
and our
homes."
